Democrats' 17-9 advantage on Louisville's city council was cut to 14-12 after voting in Tuesday's general election.
Several incumbents were ousted, trimming the Democratic majority on the council.
The Louisville Fire Department will get a much-needed infusion of cash to make overdue and critical repairs and equipment upgrades.
