LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after an 18-year-old woman was injured in a shooting Tuesday night on Dixie Highway.
According to LMPD, officers responded around 11 p.m. to the 5300 block of Dixie Highway on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman who had been struck by gunfire while riding as a passenger in a moving vehicle. Police said the shots were fired by an unknown suspect who left the area before officers arrived.
The woman was taken to UofL Hospital. Police said she is expected to survive her injuries.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the investigation. No suspect information has been released.
