The U.S. Department of Justice launched a 'pattern or practice' investigation of the Louisville Metro Police Department in April 2021.
After a bombshell report delivered by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland earlier this month, the Department of Justice and Louisville Metro Police Department will soon negotiate on an agreement focused on ways to improve policing in Louisville.
Officials with the Department of Justice are in Louisville this week, this time to talk with community members directly.
