1 dead after motorcycle crash on I-71 ramp to Watterson Expressway in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on the ramp from Interstate 71 south to Watterson Expressway.

Louisville Police were called to a report of a crash involving a motorcyclist about 9:30 Monday evening, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Ellis said the motorcyclist, a man, was traveling on the ramp from I-71 south to Interstate 264 west, Watterson Expressway, at a high rate of speed when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle near the construction area.

Ellis said EMS took the man to UofL Hospital where he died a short time later.

No one else was involved in the crash.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
