LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person is dead after a shooting in Louisville's Parkland neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Louisville Metro Police Sgt. Matt Sanders said officers were called to the 2700 block of West Kentucky Street at 3:37 p.m. on a reported shooting. That's near South 26th Street.

Once on scene, police found a male who had been shot. Sanders said officers began CPR and other life-saving measures until Louisville EMS arrived.

The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he later died, Sanders said. 

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, but had no suspects and had made no arrests.
