LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after a concrete mixer truck hit the truss of an overhead highway sign near Elizabethtown early Friday.
Elizabethtown Police Officer Chris Denham tells WDRB that the truck lost control in the northbound lanes of the US 31 W Bypass just before 8 a.m. The southbound vehicle hit the concrete support pillar for the sign, which caused it to fall into the southbound lanes.
All lanes were blocked for hours for the investigation, but all lanes reopened by 2:45 p.m.
Police said the driver of the truck owned by SRM Concrete, 26-year-old Dillon Pulaski, died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.
The Kentucky Transportation Department District 4 shared information on social media. It said the sign fell between the Western Kentucky Parkway interchange and US 62.
