Fatal Crash at Manslick and Berry Blvd.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and crashing in the Jacobs neighborhood at the intersection of Manslick Road and Berry Boulevard early Monday, according to Louisville Metro Police.

It happened around 5:30 a.m., according to a news release from LMPD. That's when officers from LMPD’s Fourth Division responded to a call for service on a report of a motor vehicle collision at Manslick Road and Berry Boulevard.

After interviewing witnesses, investigators determined the vehicle was southbound on Seventh Street "at a high rate of speed" when the driver "failed to negotiate a curve" and lost control striking a guardrail and continuing into the intersection of Manslick Road at Berry Boulevard before hitting a utility pole.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved. The man has not been identified by police.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
