LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Work to widen Clermont Road in Bullitt County begins Monday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's $16.8 million project will widen a 1.8-mile stretch from the Interstate 65 interchange to Happy Hollow Road, going from two lanes to four lanes.

The work is aimed at increasing safety and enhancing capacity of Clermont Road, also known as KY 245, to account for the increase in development across the area.

Left turn lanes will also be added to the easternmost ramps of I-65, extending to Happy Hollow Road. In addition, a multi-use path connecting the Bernheim Forest walking trail on the south side of KY 245 to the Bernheim Bike Hike Trail on the north side.

Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures, shifting traffic patterns, and construction equipment entering and exiting the work zone. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution.

Construction will continue through fall 2027.
