LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two firefighters were injured at a house fire in Mt. Washington on Monday.

Mt. Washington Fire Department and Fern Creek Fire were dispatched to a garage fire that expanded to the house. Firefighters had to set up rural water supply because a hydrant wasn't close by.

Fire crews were able to make it inside to hit hot spots, but there was a minor collapse of a wall that injured two firefighters. One firefighter was treated on scene and released, while another firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

"We want to thank Shepherdsville Fire Department and Fern Creek Fire Department for an engine company and Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District for a tanker response," Mt. Washington Fire posted on Facebook. "Also while working the fire thanks to Zoneton Fire Protection District for covering the district."
