LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two hunters in Anderson County were rescued by first responders on Sunday.

Taylorsville Spencer County Fire Protection District and Mount Eden Fire District responded to a swift water rescue call in the 1200 block of Crooked Creek Road.

Two hunters were hunting in the Kentucky Wildlife Management Area when they were swept away by the current while trying to cross a creek. The hunters went about 150 yards downstream before managing to reach the shore.

But one of the hunters was landlocked and needed help crossing the creek. Firefighters used a rope gun to set up ropes across the creek and used an inflatable raft to get the stranded hunter.

First responders also were positioned downstream with throw bags to provide additional assistance.

No one was injured in the incident.
