LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two women died in a crash on Interstate 71 in Gallatin County on Saturday, according to Kentucky State Police.
KSP troopers responded to a crash near the 63 mile marker on I-71 involving a black Chevrolet Equinox traveling northbound and a semi truck that was parked on the shoulder. KSP said the Equinox, driven by Breanna Lundgren, of Palms, Michigan, crashed into the rear of the semi truck.
Lundgren was pronounced dead at the scene, while another passenger, 22-year-old Sarah Barnes, was taken to the hospital.
Barnes, of Opelika, Alabama, died at the hospital a short time later.
KSP is investigating the crash.
