LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities in Bloomington are investigating after a five-car crash left three people dead. 

54-year-old Rose Pettus, 30-year-old Shante Lewis and 29-year-old Orlando Lewis, Jr. of Greenwood, Indiana, were killed after a passenger bus rammed into the car they were in on an Indiana highway. 

The accident happened around 2 p.m. in a construction zone near Bloomington.

Police say the car was stopped when it was struck by the bus, which was going full speed, causing a chain reaction involving other vehicles. A child in a minvan involved in the crash was injured, and a driver of another vehicle suffered head injuries.

The bus was traveling from Chicago to Louisville.
