LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB ) — A beloved Oldham County swimming spot will soon reopen just in time for summer after a major facelift.
Bluegrass Spring Quarry, formerly known as Falling Rock Quarry, opens Thursday, May 21.
Last September, new owner Noah Doranth purchased the roughly 30-acre property after it was listed for sale for $2.75 million, telling WDRB last November taking ownership felt surreal.
"A dream come true," Doranth said. "I've always wanted to be a park ranger since I was a little little kid, and this is basically my own little private park back here."
The property saw some upgrades like new furniture, repainted buildings and fresh branding.
The quarry, located at 2101 Fendley Mill Road, is still adults only and will be open Thursdays through Mondays. It will close for the season on Labor Day.
