LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 39-year-old Louisville man was identified as the victim of a fatal crash on River Road.
Louisville Metro Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at River Road and Frankfort Avenue at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 24. Police said Michael Janes was driving a vehicle westbound on River Road lost control of a vehicle and rear-ended a commercial vehicle that was turning left onto Frankfort Avenue.
Police said they don't know why he lost control. The impact of the initial crash caused the man to veer into oncoming traffic on River Road and another vehicle going eastbound was hit.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a woman, was transported to University Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
