LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A boy in his early teens died after being shot in Shively Saturday evening, according to police. 

Police are now searching for 27-year-old Da'montz Daniel-Hutchings as a person of interest. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous. 

Shively Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Kennedy Road, near Dixie Highway, around 6:30 p.m. When police arrived, officers found a male in his early teens with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police. The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

Police said it is an ongoing and active investigation. Police said the public should use caution and shouldn't approach Daniel-Hutchings.
