LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's being called the largest health care fraud investigation in the history of the U.S. Department of Justice, and it included the names of several people from Kentuckiana.

The DOJ said it uncovered more than $14 billion in fraud, leading to 324 people being charged.

Four Kentuckians face multiple charges, including: Ashley Barnett, 41, of Louisville; Laura Webb, 37, of Springfield; Kristina Coomer, 43, of Louisville; and Matthew Ryan Elkins, 40, of Crestwood. 

From Indiana, Rachel Goldstein, 43, of Jeffersonville and Christy Orwig, 58, of Madison, were also charged.

The charges involve everything from taking prescriptions meant for nursing home patients, reselling medications obtained by fraud, and taking Oxycodone from a pharmacy.

The DOJ called the major operation the "National Health Care Fraud Takedown."
