LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB)- Accelerate won the Breeders’ Cup Classic Saturday evening at Churchill Downs.
It is the first Breeders’ Cup for trainer John Sadler, who was 0-41 coming in to Saturday’s race.
Joel Rosario rode Accelerate to the victory completing a big weekend for Rosario who also was victorious on top of Game Winner in Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
This was the 5th grade one victory of the year for Accelerate who could get some attention for Horse of the Year. He came in to the day with 5-1 odds in the Classic and passed Thunder Snow down the stretch to win. Gunnevera ended up second with Thunder Snow coming in third.
