LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville added another piece to its fast-rising transfer class Wednesday, landing Arkansas guard Karter Knox, according to multiple reports.
Knox, a 6-foot-6-inch wing who played two seasons under John Calipari at Arkansas, has two years of eligibility remaining.
He averaged 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 22 games last season before a mid-February meniscus procedure ended his year. Knox shot 46% from the field and 37.7% from 3-point range, showing the kind of size and perimeter versatility that has become a priority for coach Pat Kelsey.
Knox posted similar production as a freshman, averaging 8.3 points while helping Arkansas reach the NCAA Tournament’s second weekend.
Louisville | Kentucky | Indiana | Eric Crawford
A former McDonald’s All-American and top-25 national prospect out of Overtime Elite, Knox originally committed to Calipari at Kentucky before following him to Arkansas. His older brother, Kevin, played for Calipari at Kentucky. Louisville was a finalist in his original recruitment.
He now becomes the latest addition to a portal haul that also includes Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad and Kansas big man Flory Bidunga, as Kelsey continues an aggressive offseason rebuild following a 24-11 season and NCAA Tournament appearance.
