Baptist Health celebrates birth of first baby of 2024

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)- Baptist Health is welcoming its first baby born in 2024.

Mandy Brazley gave birth to Alexander at 12:51 a.m. on New Year's Day. His due date was originally January 7th, but his mother says he came early as a New Year's surprise. Brazley says she didn't realize having the first baby of the new year was such a big deal.

"I wasn't really sure what to expect. He's been showered with all types of love today, so that's been nice. It's just a really peaceful and relaxing way to start the new year," Brazley said.

The family says they are happy mom and baby are doing well.

Baptist Health Hardin also welcomed its first baby of 2024. Lucas was born at 3:07 a.m. on January 1. His parents are Jason and Patricia of Vine Grove. Lucas weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
