LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The search for a missing Kentucky woman came to an end after her body was found in a lake, according to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.
It says the body of 19-year-old Marly Kinney from Ashland, Kentucky was found at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in Grayson Lake in Carter County. Kinney had been missing since Wednesday afternoon.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife said game wardens led an exhaustive search for Kinney following a missing person report that a female passenger did not return with a group of friends on a rented pontoon boat at Grayson Lake Marina.
An arrest citation reports 23-year-old Cameron Conley was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated in connection to the disappearance of a female passenger on the boat he was driving. He reportedly told Kentucky State Police troopers that he was unable to find the woman. Conley was arrested Wednesday evening, the same day Kinney disappeared.
The citation states that while troopers were speaking with Conley, they smelled the odor of alcohol and noted he had bloodshot glassy eyes. Kentucky State Police questioned Conley if he had any alcoholic beverages while operating the boat and Conley advised he had. Conley's PBT breath result was .137.
The search involved multiple county and state law enforcement agencies, first responders and volunteers that included boats, Ashland Fire Department divers, sonar, Kentucky State Police helicopters, drones, UTVs/ATVs, and K9 and cadaver dogs.
Kinney's cause of death has not been determined. The case remains under investigation.
