LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Bourbon, barbecue and boxing are coming together in Louisville this weekend to raise money for cancer research.
Bourbon BBQ and Mayhem is set for the Friday and Saturday and will feature bourbon and craft cocktail tastings, barbecue, live music and professional boxing.
Friday's events run from 5-11 p.m. and include bourbon and cocktail tastings, barbecue samples, live entertainment and the official boxing weigh-in.
The event continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with two barbecue competitions. Bourbon tastings and all-you-can-sample barbecue begin at 4 p.m. while supplies last.
Professional boxing begins at 7 p.m.
The lineup includes an ABO Welterweight Regional Championship fight between Johnell "Sin Bull" Taylor and Tyree Sawyer. Tim "Mayhem" Moten will face Portland Pringle for the Kentucky Heavyweight Championship.
Portuguese Golden Gloves champion Carlos Malheiro is also scheduled to make his U.S. debut.
WDRB's Gilbert Corsey will serve as the ring announcer.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Kentuckiana Friends of V and its cancer research initiative.
