LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville woman was arrested in southern Indiana over the weekend for allegedly driving drunk with two children in the vehicle.

According to Indiana State Police, 39-year-old Jennifer Elmore, of Louisville, was stopped around 9 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 64 in Floyd County.

Police said a state trooper saw her pass another vehicle in the righthand lane by driving onto the emergency shoulder before forcing her way between two cars in the right lane, "creating a hazardous situation for other motorists."

During the traffic stop, the trooper saw two children in the vehicle and noted that there were signs Elmore was impaired by alcohol.

Elmore was taken to the Floyd County Jail for testing, and police made arrangements for the children to be picked up. She was then arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated with a minor present, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, operating while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or higher, operating while intoxicated endangerment and operating while intoxicated.

The case is being reviewed by the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office, police said. The charges are preliminary pending a formal filling by the prosecutor's office.
