LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Deputies with the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office are getting some new ballistic vests.
A $30,000 grant from the Kentucky Department of Homeland Security was used to buy 45 new vests.
The sheriff's office said it received the grant after it turned over 500 confiscated weapons to Kentucky State Police.
Proceeds from the sale of the weapons then fund the program to protect officers.
