LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Baptist Health Hardin received a grant to make parking easier for patients.
The hospital received $100,000 from WesBanco Bank. The funding will support a valet parking service for patients at the new Baptist Health Hardin Medical Pavilion. The hospital is a major need for the growing area.
Officials said the investment will attract the best doctors.
"Buildings never cured anybody," said Mike Bowers, chairman of Baptist Health Foundation Hardin. "Nobody is cured because of a building, but what happens in the medical field is that you really need to have the facilities and equipment to get the best physicians you can get."
The $225 million construction project is expected to open in 2024. It includes a new cancer center, operating rooms and lab space.
The hospital already services around 400,000 patients each year. That number is expected to double in the next several years.
