LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A square block in Louisville’s fast-growing NuLu neighborhood is set for redevelopment under a new owner.
Winebrenner Capital Management recently purchased the Plumbers Supply Co. property bounded by East Main Street, Baxter Avenue, East Market Street and South Wenzel Street, according to a news release.
The developer, which built the Martin on Main luxury apartment complex two blocks west on Main Street, hasn’t finalized plans for the Plumbers Supply site.

Winebrenner Capital Management recently purchased the Plumbers Supply Co. property bounded by E. Main Street, Baxter Avenue, E. Market Street and S. Wenzel Street. The sale from the Wertz family also included three parcels across Main Street.
"Thanks to our investing clients we were able to procure the largest and most iconic opportunity in what we believe to be Louisville’s hottest growth market," Winebrenner Capital Management’s Earl Winebrenner said in the release.
Plumbers Supply, a century-old Louisville business that sells plumbing and HVAC supplies, decided to move its primary warehouse from downtown to Watterson Park, according to the release.
The Werst family, owners of Plumbers Supply, sold the East Main Street block and three nearby parcels to Winebrenner for an undisclosed price. Public records reflecting the sale have not yet been filed.
"Through a methodical process, our family determined that selling the Main Street properties to Winebrenner will add to the exciting transformation of NuLu," said Jay Werst, chairman of Plumbers Supply Co., in the news release.
