LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The latest tariffs to hit in the recent days are on imported steel and aluminum. That's expected to impact a number of local businesses, beginning with bicycle shops.

When it comes to things made out of imported metals, bikes just might top the list.

From aluminum frames to steel pedals, bikes contain a lot of what President Trump has just hit with 50% tariffs.

Bike shops have said they first started seeing the impact of tariffs about a month ago. But here is what's important - bikes that you see in stores now won't be affected.

If you're looking to purchase a bike, it's probably a good idea to buy now than wait.

And just like with many of things, bikes won't have tariffs if they are made in the U.S. with American-made steel.
