One of the top text scams going around right now is fake IRS texts. The text states a tax refund amount is available to you, but it can't be completed due to incomplete personal information. A link follows to simple enter in your information.
The Better Business Bureau is warning about a big surge in text scams. They're replaced phone call scams.
Other text scams right now include a problem with your bank account, or an unpaid highway toll that will result in a big fine.
These scams may seem like just a minor inconvenience, but they are more than that. The bottom line is don't click on any links in texts you may find suspicious, and call the agency number is you have any questions.
