LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Not sure what to buy someone this holiday season? Consider a gift card and you could get a bonus for yourself!
When a sweater just doesn't work and you don't want another slow cooker, gift card is the way to go.
In December, many gift cards come with a bonus that you can secretly keep for yourself.
Restaurants like Applebee's, Chili's, and Cheesecake Factory are going along with the trend, as well as stores like DSW Shoes.
The one thing to be cautious of: Buying a gift card that's already drained.
The BBB is warning to look over every card carefully that you purchase, for signs of the cardboard being pulled back or the bar code being tampered with.
Also, remember bonus gift cards usually have a short shelf life. So plan wisely on your spending!
