LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One of the best Halloween decorated streets in Louisville was the place to be for trick-or-treating on Tuesday evening.

Around 10,000 people were expected to walk up and down Hillcrest Avenue in Crescent Hill on Halloween to see the spooky displays and show off some costumes.

Halloween shops like Caufield's Novelty near downtown Louisville has been busy since September, as people look for the best outfit for trick-or-treating or parties.

"It's a 'phew' for us that it is over. I think just because it is non-stop while it's going on in the month of October," said Tracy Caufield-Johnson, owner of Caufield's Novelty.

Since Halloween is on a Tuesday this year, sales have been a little slower than if it was on a weekend.

"The last two years have been record-breaking, so this one we expected it to be a little bit down, and it has been," Caufield-Jackson said.

People were still doing some last minute shopping at Horner Novelty in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Tuesday.

"It is always fun. We enjoy it," said Erin Scroggins, business manager of Horner Novelty. "We love watching everybody come in, and they go through the aisles and just amazed at everything we still have."

Horner said the scream costume has been so popular they have sold 10 cases of masks. Other popular costumes this year include Ken and Barbie, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
