LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new center opened in south Louisville on Friday to support all ages in the community.

Harbor House cut the ribbon on its new Inter-generational Life Center on Lower Hunters Trace.

The new $18 million facility features classrooms, a health clinic and pharmacy, a kitchen, a salon and an event space.

It has dedicated art, music and exercise rooms along with physical, occupational and speech therapy areas.

"This entire building is for everybody in the community to enjoy," Harbor House CEO Maria Smith said. "Not only do we break down barriers by bringing people together the different folks in our community under one roof but we also start to heal some of those ills in our community."

Harbor House started in 1992 to support adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

The facility will also be open to children and seniors of all abilities.
