LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Italian-inspired nano-distillery will open its doors near NuLu in Louisville this week.
Prova Spirits will open Friday, Aug. 22, on East Liberty Street in the city's Phoenix Hill neighborhood, in the same space as Video Kitchen and Parlour NuLu.
Prova occupies a 2,800-square-foot space with a 69-seat bar, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
There is also a small outdoor patio and a compact production facility. Gin, vodka, limoncello, amaro castello and aperitivo rosso are made in-house by co-owner Giuseppe Paoulos.Â
Paoulos refers to Prova as a "nano-distillery" because it is even smaller than most micro-distilleries.
Prova also has a retail area where patrons can purchase some of the brand's products, ranging in price from $20 to $40, LBF reported.
"Prova" is an Italian word that can mean "test" or "proof," which Paoulos told LBF he thought was a fitting name for a spirits company.Â
The nano-distillery will be open Thursday through Sunday.
