LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A variety of restaurants are scheduled to show out next Tuesday for the annual "Taste of Southern Indiana" event.Â
It's happening on Aug. 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Eastside Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Ind.Â
The event benefits Hope Southern Indiana's Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), whose members provide volunteer services to numerous organizations in South Central Indiana. RSVP connects anyone 55+ to use their gifts and talents to impact their community.
"It's a tool to help individuals 55 and older volunteer in their community," said RSVP Tri-County Coordinator Leann Lindley. "So we have volunteers in all kinds of areas -- like it could be at the library, hospital, soup kitchens, pantries. They're the unsung heroes of our community."
RSVP has about 700 volunteers in five counties in southern Indiana.
Tickets to the Aug. 13 events are $30 each, and you can try food from over two dozen restaurants.
