LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Exposition Center is expanding its event space.
The venue that hosts the Kentucky State Fair and events like Bourbon & Beyond and Louder Than Life is reclaiming approximately 300,000 square feet of land that it had been leasing at 911 Phillips Lane.
Crews are in the process of preparing the land "for flexible parking and event activations."
The plan is to make use of "every acre to support record-breaking events, enhance traffic flow, and improve visitor experience," according to the release.
The new additional space will be used to provide parking for upcoming events like the National Street Rods Association, the Kentucky State Fair, Bourbon & Beyond, and Louder Than Life.
The construction and renovations come about a month after the expo center reopened a renovated Gate 4 on Crittenden Drive with six lanes and a larger car line-up space than the other gates.
