LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky's film industry is getting a boost with an all-in-one multimedia hub in Owensboro.
The Kentucky Sound Stage is holding an open house on Saturday, Aug. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. Organizers with the Western Kentucky Film Commission said it's an invitation for creatives, local businesses or anyone interested in the growing film and TV industry to "connect, explore and get involved."
The facility includes state-of-the-art film and television production, audio and music recording, commercial production, screenings, events, and photo shoots in one spot. It was designed for productions of all sizes including feature films, television series, commercials or live events.
The open house will allow visitors to see its 400 seat venue that can be used for screenings, performances and presentations. The film hub also includes a green screen studio, post production facilities and a place to rent cameras and other equipment for top-tier productions.
The Kentucky Sound Stage also includes 15 multi-purpose rooms of various sizes that can be used for rehearsals, wardrobe, meetings or even custom-built sets.
