New southern Indiana restaurant aims to provide safe space for women

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new restaurant is now open in southern Indiana.

Dagger'z Bar and Grill held a grand opening over the weekend on East 10th Street in Jeffersonville, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

The owner, WaTasha Haycroft, said she and her husband designed the restaurant to be a place to hang out and a serve as a safe space for women.

"I want to make sure that women know that we are here to make it a safe environment," Haycroft told LBF. "I want women to feel safe and to come in and have a great time."

The restaurant features a dance floor, an outdoor patio with games, karaoke nights and live music.

It's open seven days a week, serving a variety of bar food including burgers, nachos and wings.
