LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Norton Healthcare and Cigna Healthcare have reached a new agreement on in-network care for patients.Â
The agreement took effect Oct. 1, meaning patients with Cigna are considered in-network when getting care at Norton Healthcare and Norton Children's.
The deal between the two companies was set to expire in early September, but Cigna decided to extend its termination notice through Oct. 1.
A Norton Healthcare spokesperson released the following written statement on Oct. 3:
"Norton Healthcare and Cigna Healthcare have reached a new agreement, effective Oct. 1, 2025. This agreement ensures that patients with Cigna will remain in-network when receiving care at Norton Healthcare and Norton Children's.
"We appreciate the community’s patience throughout this process. Our focus remains on providing uninterrupted access to high-quality care.
"For patients who received prior notices about potential changes to coverage, no action is needed. Coverage will continue as usual."
Now Norton and Cigna have a long-term agreement.Â
