LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Opening dates for the two new Publix stores in the works in Louisville have been announced.

The stores on Ballardsville Road and Flat Rock Road in eastern Jefferson County will open within a week of each other.

The first celebration kicks off at Publix at Marshall Commons on Ballardsville Road with a ribbon cutting held on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Both stores will have an adjacent Publix Liquors next door.

Then, on the following Saturday, Sept. 6, the Eastwood area store on Flat Road Road will open.

Both stores will open on their respective days at 7 a.m. to customers.

This will be the second and third locations for Publix in Louisville. The first Louisville Publix location opened at 2500 Terra Crossings Blvs. off Old Henry Road last January with long lines of customers waiting to get inside.

In addition, the grocery chain plans to open a location in Middletown, signing a lease for the old Walmart Neighborhood Market at 201 Blankenbaker Parkway in May.
