LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A well-known west coast taco chain is making its way to Louisville.

As reported by our partners at Louisville Business First, Del Taco has signed a five-store development deal with a franchisee to bring the poplar taco chain to the Commonwealth.

The franchisee will be responsible for developing and operating all five Del Taco locations across Louisville.

Del Taco, acquired by Jack in the Box in 2022, was founded in 1964 and is the second-largest Mexican-American quick-service chain in the U.S. with about 600 locations in 17 states.

The San-Diego-based Jack in the Box recently entered the Louisville market in 2023 with locations at 3232 Bardstown Road and 10700 Dixie Highway in Valley Station.

Del Taco restaurant locations have not been released as of yet, but it is estimated a store could open in Louisville within the next 18-24 months.
