LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A long-time furniture store in New Albany is celebrating its 87th anniversary.
Schmitt Furniture is hosting a Birthday Bash on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. during Harvest Homecoming. There will be a free concert featuring The Skinny and The Juice Box Heroes on the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater at 100 E. Water Street.
"The Birthday Bash allows the store to celebrate its anniversary with the community and provide the city a fun night out," owner Louis Schmitt said in a news release. "It's just a pleasure and honor to be able to have an event like this partnered with the Harvest Homecoming this year. This is our way of saying thank you to the community for believing in us and supporting us and a major portion of the sales of food and drink will support a local nonprofit organization that provides bedding for people in need."
The Skinny takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. There will be a beer garden and food trucks. Juice Box Heroes is slated to perform from 8-11 p.m.
Founded in 1936, Schmitt Furniture is located at 101 East Main Street.
