Downtown Beer - Ten20 Craft Brewery - 6.27.24

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Residents and tourist alike visiting Downtown Louisville will soon be able to taste a new brew branded for the area.

Louisville Downtown Partnership along with Ten20 Craft Brewery launched a new craft beer, 1834 American Lager as the co-branded "Downtown Beer," sold at participating Downtown restaurants, bars and venues.

“We love the craft beer community, and wanted to highlight spirits other than the bourbon scene in our Downtown,” said Rebecca Fleischaker, executive director of LDP.

A part of the proceeds from the selling of the beer will go to maintaining a clean and beautiful Downtown.

“This is an additional fun, and tasty, way to support Downtown and we hope you join us in raising a glass to keeping Downtown clean and beautiful," Fleischaker said.

The beer's new label design is a nod to Louisville with a fleur de lis while paying homage to the original 1834 label. Special cups have also been created to match the newly-branded beer served in it.

“We love Louisville in a big way and are excited about how this partnership will give folks an opportunity to give back to our city while drinking local. That is something we can all raise a glass to," Jim McGuire, co-owner of Ten20 Craft Brewery, said.

The debut of "Downtown's Beer will be at the Pickleball Street Fest on June 30 on West Jefferson Street between 4th and 5th Streets and Plaza on Fourth. There will be open pickleball play, clinics and tournament games with music, food trucks and Ten20 beer.
