LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is dead after a head-on crash Saturday evening in southeast Jefferson County, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for LMPD, said officers responded on a crash in the 5700 block of Taylorsville Lake Road around 10:30 p.m.
According to witnesses, a northbound vehicle was driving erratically and swerved into the southbound lanes where it crashed into a car head-on.
Both of the drivers were taken to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman driving the southbound vehicle died in the hospital.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, 40-year-old Erendida Lane died early Sunday morning.
There was also a juvenile passenger in the southbound vehicle. The child was taken to Norton Children's Hospital but their status is unknown at this time.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
