LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was killed in a double shooting Tuesday morning in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.Â
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said 1st Division officers were called to a shooting about 10:37 a.m. Tuesday on Congress Alley, which is near 15th and Jefferson streets.Â
Mitchell said when officers arrived, they found two males in a vehicle who had been shot. Investigators are working to determine if it was a targeted shooting.Â
Police said one male died at the scene, and the other was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.Â
There are no suspects in the shooting. Â
Mitchell said the shooting happened as a back-to-school event that included children was being held a block away.
"There's a lot of good people trying to do a lot of good things. There's just a few people that are making our city intolerable at this stage," Mitchell said. "And what we all need to do is, if you have information, bring it forward to us and let us know so we can find the person or persons responsible for these things and get our city back to where we all want it to be."
