LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An attempted robbery inside a business on Dixie Highway in Louisville's Valley Station turned deadly Saturday morning.
LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said police responded to a report of a shooting at a business in the 8800 block of Dixie Highway at 11:23 a.m. Once police responded on scene at Game X Change, they found two males who had been shot. Police didn't release the ages of the victims.
Police said one person died on scene while the other was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.Â
"They were pulling up their hoods, bring their heads down low. They had glasses and face masks on," Mike Straub, who works at Marco's Pizza nearby, said.
Traffic stopped at the usually high-traffic area off Dixie Highway.
"We just happened to be up here right when the guys were coming by," Straub said.
Straub works at Marco's Pizza two doors down from Game X Change, where the deadly shooting took place.
"They were in a half run going around the corner," Straub said. "They just started heading real fast towards the Game Exchange and next thing we knew were gunshots and the cops are showing up."

Straub's team saw the men covered head to toe in all black.
"That was the oddest thing. They were an all black zip ups with black hoodies. It looked like they were just ready for winter and 95 degrees outside," Straub said. "This heat is getting to people. It's just too damn hot. They're just going crazy out there."
The manager of Game X Change, who was too emotional to speak on camera, told WDRB News it was the third time the retail store has been robbed in a year and a half.
"We were afraid that we're going to be coming here and like I said they just kept moving, so we didn't know where they were heading," Straub said.
The manager also told us two men tried to rob the store, but they were both shot.
"It's scary. I mean, it makes you not want to come back to work the next day honestly. What can you do? Just hope that our boys in blue are going to take care of us," Straub said.
Louisville has had at least 85 homicides this year so far. Saturday's, inside of Game X Change, marks the seventh person shot and killed in Louisville since Tuesday.
Game X Change will remained closed to the public for now, and is scheduled to reopen on July 7..
"I almost lost a friend today," the manager said to WDRB News.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.Â
Mitchell said all parties involved in the shooting have been accounted for.
