LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 18-year-old was arrested Tuesday in connection to a shooting in April, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD said the non-fatal shooting happened April 12 in the 3500 block of Young Avenue. The investigation started after a person suffering from a gunshot wound walked into Jewish Hospital.

Zakaria Osman was taken into custody without incident Tuesday.

According to court documents, Osman and other suspects tried to steal a red Chevrolet Camaro in the backyard of the victim's home. The victim heard the vehicle's security alarm sound off and opened his backdoor, but then the suspects pointed a gun at him.

The man went back into his home to make sure his two children were in a safe place, and then looked out a home's window to see the suspects. That's when Osman and the suspects fired at the man and the home. The man inside then fired shots at the suspects.

The suspects fled the scene after the shooting. Police said one of the people involved in the shooting then went to Jewish Hospital for treatment.

Osman was charged with wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and robbery, among other charges.
