LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 19-year-old man was charged with murder after a shooting killed one teenager and injured another in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood.
Neqwell Beason, 19, was taken into custody Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of murder and assault in connection with the June shooting in the area of Dixie Highway and West Hill Street.
Around 3:30 p.m. June 8, police responded to the shooting and found two boys with gunshot wounds, according to LMPD.
Sam Kamara, 16, died as a result of the shooting. Another teenager was hurt but survived.Â
A co-defendant — 20-year-old Damari Walls-Medlock — was arrested Aug. 22 in connection to the shooting. He is charged with murder and assault and remains in custody.Â
Beason is set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
