LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville men will spend years in prison for a series of carjacking incidents in the southwest part of the city.
Fahad Alasawi was sentenced to 22 years in prison, and Mauricio Diaz was sentenced to 17 years.
They tried to steal five cars from different victims from May to June 2022. Most of the carjackings happened in a Louisville apartment complex on Hames Trace, off South Hurstbourne Parkway.
In one of the cases, at a different apartment complex, the suspects pointed a gun at a 12-year-old boy who had gone outside to get things out of a car. They took the keys from him and stole the car.
There is no parole in the federal system.
