LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two men are in custody after a fatal shooting early Sunday in Fern Creek.

Police said one of the alleged shooters has been identified as the victim's brother.

It happened around 3 a.m. in the 1000 block of Brentlinger Park Drive, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. That's where police found the man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to UofL Health Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

In an updated news release sent from LMPD Sunday afternoon, police said two people have been arrested in connection with the murder: Darrel Burnett and Kailai Paige.

Investigators said Paige told officers he was physically fighting with the victim before shooting him in the leg with a handgun. Surveillance video from the scene confirmed that information. The video also showed Darrel Burnett using a rifle to shoot the victim -- now identified as Darryl Burnett Jr. -- in the head.

Mitchell said Darryl Burnett Jr. and and Darrel Burnett are brothers.

Burnett and Paige are due in court next week.
