LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after being shot in the Shawnee neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.

In a release, LMPD said officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of South 42nd Street around 11:45 a.m. Police found a man and a woman who had been shot.

They were taken to University of Louisville Hospital by EMS with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating the incident.

LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said police don't have specific suspect information to share.
