LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after a crash in Louisville's Buechel neighborhood earlier this week.
Louisville Metro Police were called to the intersection of Bardstown Road and Breckenridge Lane on reported a vehicle crash shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, department spokesperson John Bradley said.
Bradley said a Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Bardstown Road, approaching Breckenridge Lane. A Ford Focus and a Saturn Vue were stopped at the red light on Bardstown Road. The driver of the Escape didn't stop, Bradley said, and tried to dodge the stopped cars but hit the back end of the Focus, pushing it into the Vue. The Escape then spun into oncoming southbound traffic and hit another car.Ā
The drivers of the Escape, Focus and the other car were taken to UofL Hospital. The driver of the Focus, later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 26-year-old Rakan Al Qudah, died Thursday at the hospital.Ā
Bradley said the driver of the Escape is suspected of driving under the influence, and charges are pending. The driver's name has not yet been released.
