LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is now in custody after police say he himself was shot by the man he robbed and killed.
According to an arrest report, 34-year-old Douglas Church was taken into custody on Thursday.
Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, police were sent to a home on Woodruff Avenue, near Taylor Boulevard and I-264, after someone reported a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He died at the hospital.

He has not yet been publicly identified. Family members say he had two children.
"I heard a bang, bang, and I thought it was a wreck," said Patricia Jones, who lives nearby.
Jones eventually learned there was a shooting and the victim was her neighbor.
At around 9:15 p.m. -- a few minutes later -- police were called to investigate after someone reported that there was a gunshot victim at a home in the 3600 block of Lentz Avenue.
According to an arrest report, that man was Church. Police say he was taken to University Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Police believe Church was shot by the murder victim during the robbery.
Both Church and a second suspect, 19-year-old Damion Hayes, have been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the Woodruff Avenue shooting.

Church appeared before a judge Monday morning, where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
According to the arrest report, Church was willing to admit being involved in the robbery, but denied having anything to do with the shooting.
